Redang Island

A tropical island paradise which is an all time favourite for divers. Teeming with corals and marine life.

The stretch of beachfront on peninsular Malaysia facing the South China Sea offers an abundance of coral and sea life to the avid diving community and none more so than around the stretch of the island off the coast of Terengganu State.Redang and it's adjacent cluster of islands have been a long time favourite for divers in Malaysia.

Clear sapphire blue waters that contain rich and colourful thriving corals support an eco-system that attracts marine life abundantly. Sharks, turtles and rays are common visitors to these waters and whale sharks migrate through these areas. Diving in general here is good and offers novices and experienced divers alike a dive experience to remember. Night diving here offers a selection of marine life that is divers and rarely seen normally.

Redang is accessible by speedboats and ferries from Merang and Kuala Terengganu. The boat ride takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Kuala Terengganu is about 7 hours drive from Kuala Lumpur but an advisable mode of transport is flying to Kuala Terengganu which takes 45 minutes from Kuala Lumpur.
